Drill Questions • 1. The application of science to law describes Forensic Science. • 2. The fictional exploits of Sherlock Holmes excite the imagination of an emerging generation of forensic scientists and criminal investigators.

Objectives • SWBAT • Explain the purpose and scope of forensic science, with especial attention to the history and function of crime laboratories and techniques. • Explain the function of a forensic scientist within the justice system.
Chapter Summary • Each group will have up to 10 minutes to discuss their section of Chapter 1. • Ask intelligent questions of them—remember, this is in leiu of Ms. Bloedorn presenting notes. • Anything from Chapter 1 is fair game for the eventual test—don’t assume that if it’s not on the summary, it’s not on the test.
