Tuesday 8:00-8:30: Student Drop Off Duty – Side door beside kitchen 8:30-9:15: Redstreak Reading Club – 2nd Grade Enrichment- [This is my first day with the 2nd Grade Enrichment group. I will go over the rules, what I expect from them, and where they will keep their things stored in my classroom.] What is Community Service? Discuss the topic with the whole group, ask the kids for examples and create a KWL chart on the smart board. Next, have the students go to their individual computers and find the section on the right hand side of the screen that says= 2nd Grade Enrichment- Have them click and read the Wikipedia link titled= Community Service. Come back together as a group and add information to the Learn section of the KWL chart… (food drive) 9:15-9:30: Planning 9:30- 10:15: Mrs. Wolford– Have students open Microsoft Word. Have them create a Christmas List and print. Collect and give to homeroom teacher. 10:15-11:10: Mrs. Salisbury- Have students open Microsoft Word. Have them create a Christmas List and print. Collect and give to homeroom teacher. 11:10-11:55: Mrs. Mrs. Shepherd– Have students use Microsoft Word to write a letter to Santa. The letter must be in a “Friendly Letter” format and include at least two or more of their spelling words. Print and Collect. (spelling words: porch, person, dirt, turn, before, I’ll, didn’t, stories, lunches, away, brain, today) 11:55-12:30: Lunch 12:30-1:15: Mrs. Brady – Discuss Needs and Wants as a whole group. Have students open the link titled “Christmas Need and Wants” under Educational Projects. Have the student type five items in each box, as well as WHY then Need or Want that object. Print and Collect 1:15-2:00: Mrs. Walls- Ask the question, “How do we communicate with people? What does communicate mean? Can you think of a way to communicate with your friends? What if your friends lived far away? Have you ever communicated with Santa? Can you tell me about it…” Today we are going to communicate with Santa, by writing him a friendly letter. This is NOT your wish list. It is just a friendly letter to say… ??? Use your imagination! – Under Educational Project open- Dear Santa- Type, Print and Collect 2:00-2:30- K+Kids: Independent reading on his/her level. Kids should bring an AR book in with them. They may take AR test if they are ready… they will need help logging in. Have each student create a brief explanation of how they think they can make an impact in their community- Under Educational Projects: I CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE! (typing skills) 9:15-9:30: Small Group 9:30- 10:15: Mrs. Reuter –Have students open Microsoft Word. Have them create a Christmas List and print. Collect and give to homeroom teacher. 10:15-11:10: Planning 11:10-11:55: Mrs. Pollard – http://www.northpole.com/ Create a username and password and send a letter to Santa. Students will learn how to show their page as a power point today. 9:15-9:30: Small Group 9:30- 10:15: Mrs. Mitchell –Have students open Microsoft Word. Have them create a Christmas List and print.
