2. Workpackage 2  Safety and Utilization Project Objectives: • Exchange and sharing of experiences; • Highlight critical situations/issues/problems to overcome and the gap between needed and available resources; • Highlight fragmentation and partiality of the information available to overcome a trend; • Propose priorities between foreseen activities and development of planned experiments and pilot actions; • Highlight the usefulness and importance of a river information system capable of organizing existing information, integrating them into a system of periodic surveys and making them easily available to assess possible improvements.

Actions planned by the Municipality of Pesaro: Analysis and integration of information relating to the geo-morphological, ecological and vegetational characterization of river corridor; Georeferencing and integration of information collected in the geographic computerised system of the municipality; Identify infrastructural and physical interventions aimed at the naturalistic and landscape recovery of corsican water and floodplains, hydrualic safety and utilization. 4. The actions foreseen by the municipality of Pesaro can be summarized as follows outputs: Dossier River “Foglia” (website); Pilot intervention (cycle track along the river Foglia) Participation development and territorial information activities Workpackage 2  Safety and Utilization Analysis of the progress and presentation of the first output results foreseen by the project for the municipality of Pesaro

6. Workpackage 2  Safety and Utilization • Output Dossier River Foglia:Summary document on the situation of the river, the possibilities for improvement and good management. The document will accompany all public events, meetings with citizenship, with entrepreneurs operating in the area. • Expected deadline 30 June 2008 • Objectives  Presentation of the river to the city: • This intervention includes: • Placement of informative panels on the state of the river along the use paths to be installed on the banks; • Project website connecting network studies held by municipality.

7. Workpackage 2  Safety and utilization Product output 14 projects that affect, directly or indirectly, the river Foglia were catalogued and archived. All interventions were examined and a summary sheet congaing the main data was created for each project. Finally, a database was obtained from the summary sheet and made available for consultation on the following website: http://urbanistica.pesaro.ps.it / PWC Expected deadlineThe site is published and a general update (also based on the findings of Koprivnica’s meeting) is needed along with an evaluation of future updates on the basis of new projects involving the river. A final version will be available on the network by March. Future Goals  Monitoring and updating of the site;

9. Workpackage 2  Safety and utilization Output  Pilot project: 300 meter cycle track on the embakment top. This action aims at using the river while looking for a recovery of the plainfloods, which are now in a state of deterioration and abandonment, as provided by PRG. The projects fits within the broader network of municipal mobility that includes, during the years, the realization of cycle routes troughout the embankment area both on the right and the left bank. Expected dead line 30 june 2008 Objectives  The objective of the project is to enable the use of an area of extraordinary charm, access to which is effectively prevented by the conditions of neglect and degradation of plain floods: it is not just about inventing equipment, but also returning the space along the river to daily usability while valuing the river asa an important territorial connection.

Workpackage 2  Safety and utilization Output  Disclosure and information on the territory: it provides for the dissemination through brochures, posters, CD ROMs and panels to be displayed on the bike track. Expected dead line 30 june 2008 Obiettivi  Promoting knowledge of river system and projects that insist on it, providing data studies and projects.

Brochure "pilot project" Timeframe for the closure of the output  presumably by April 2008. Information panels on cycle tracks will be installed during the construction work.
