  5. Learning outcomes: • The ss will be able aquaintedwith the following new words: • Profession,gigantic,saplings • They will be able to answer the questions relating to the text and about the importance of trees.

  6. Look at thepicture The teacher is teaching. He is a teacher by profession

  7. Again look at the picture There are many tender plants. They are saplings.

  8. Look at the picture once again. The tree looks very large. It is gigantic.

  9. The ss will be asked to read the passage silently for the following activities.

  10. Answer the following questions in pairs. • (a)Who is KartikPoramanik? • (b)Why did he plant trees? • (c) Where did he plant trees?

  11. The answer to the above questions. • (a)Kartikporamanik is a hair dresser. • (b) He started planting tress at four. • (c ) He planted trees by the side of roads,follow land and so on.

  12. The ss will be asked to write a paragraph on ‘Tree Plantation’ as home task and bring the same at the next class.
