Introduction – The Assignment The entire multimedia assignment consists of: • This PowerPoint presentation • A Multimedia Website • A Brief report In this PowerPoint presentation I will demonstrate my technical and communication abilities whist talking about the production of my website.
Design - Layout • I chose this layout after a few developmental sketches and trials. • I liked it because it makes good use of the screen space and is not too traditional so it compliments my modern-looking page
Design - Colour • I played with a few different colour options for this website. • I decided on the fun pink and purple, as this website is about explaining myself and they are my favorites and well as complementing each other well and having a fun ‘look’.
Design - Navigation • The navigation was chosen for its simplicity and effectiveness. • It had to also fit in with my colour theme. • The rollover text was adapted from my original ideas (shown right-top).
How it will look Here are some sketches I drew when brainstorming the design of my site
Technical Enhancements Style sheets • I decided to use a style sheet to get the look I was after for my site, it took quite some time to develop!! Animation • I created the animation for the flag in Animation Shop with one of my photos Rollovers • The Rollovers were an element I had wanted to include from my first development stages. They really aid clear navigation and are an effective yet simple site element.
How to Create it? Step 1 • Mockups - drawings by hand and through Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to decide how I want my site to look – a few options. Step 2 • Try-outs – Working out if I can actually make what I drew, and if it looks as good on screen. • This step should lead me to a final single option.
How to Create it? Step 3 • Creating – Making my designs come to life, creating a site structure, setting up the pages then refining all the elements. In Dreamweaver.
How to test it? • To test my site after it has been created, I will upload it on to the internet and open it up from various locations, on different types of PC’s to check they can all handle it well and that it looks the same cross-platforms.
It Works!! Screen shots of my final website!!
What makes this a Multimedia Website? • The term multimedia describes using a number of technologies or ‘media’to combine visual and audiofor the purpose of communicating. • This is a website is a Multimedia Application as it combines elements of various digital visual imagery elements to communicate a purpose.
