ACA and the Homeless • Many qualify for health insurance under the Affordable Care Act, but finding a place to live, not health care, is the priority. • Outreach campaign by the LA Dept. of Health Services • Enroll as many of the estimated 390,000 potentially eligible uninsured residents into Healthy Way LA • Outreach workers have gone to churches, schools, soup kitchens, homeless shelters and Skid Row. • 257,000 enrolled (2/3)
