Load shedding Check list • Legal and Regulatory status: • Are you aware that “Code of Practice” – NRS 048-9 Ed.1 has been implemented as a NERSA licence condition for emergency load shedding & curtailment ? • Are you aware that NERSA requires you to submit your implementation plans in April. • Implementation status - schedules: • Have you decided whether you will shed your own load or be shed by Eskom ? • If so, have you engaged/notified Eskom of this decision • If you plan to shed your own load: • Have you developed your Stage 1-4 schedules in accordance with NRS 048-9 • Are your control staff aware that Eskom will call for Stages and NOT for MW’s? • Have your schedules been published / made available to your customers • Have you identified critical loads as defined by NRS 048-9 (e.g. hospitals, metrol rail, stadiums, water supplies, airports, etc) • If so, have you implemented the measures called for each of these by NRS 048-9
