SARDONIC By: Michaela Judkins
Definition Sardonic- Characterized by bitter or scornful derision, mocking, cynical, or sneering.
Etymology From Greek “Sardonios” meaning of bitter or scornful laughter. Altered from Homeric “Sardanios” by influence of Sardonios because Greeks believed that a plant called “Sardonian” caused facial convulsions resembling those of sardonic laughter usually followed by death.
