CASE: Workshops between young and the business environment WHY IS THE CASE INTERESTING? For the majority of young people is the first contact/dialogue with businessmen The fact that the meetings take place represents the openness of the business environment for cooperation Young people are confronted with contradictory feelings: lacking experience, training in business but aspirating towards career opportunities offered by this environment
WHY IS THE CASE IMPORTANT? represents the first dialogues between Young and Businessmen the starting point of a good cooperation where questions are addressed to both sides to find out each part’s expectations and overcome the gap in between meetings took place in schools and school representatives had the chance to evaluate the shortcomings of the education provided
Main goal of the meetings- Young & Businessmen challenged to adopt a new approach, to realise that they need each other: businessmen need the creativity and dynamism of the young, while the young need the know-how and support of the businessmen- For the first time, Young people were officially approached to express their needs, their points of view regarding the job market and the local community
Participants: YOUNG PEOPLE Local BUSINESSMEN Public Authority representatives School Inspectorate
Outcome of this meeting - Solutions were found to overcome the present conditions: a more pragmatic education, trainings in real business environments, change in the businessmen’s attitude, informing on and coaching young people, youth needs to have official representation in the local community
