Seed position • Present seed replacement rate of cereals – 17% • Projected seed replacement rate – 20% Seed is generally procured from NSC, KRSC & KKV Dapoli State Government gives 50% subsidy at source During the year 2005-06, subsidy was given for 350 tonnes

Nutrient & Pest Management • Soil samples analyzed for NPK – 22,510 Nos during the year 2005-06 • Soil samples analyzed for micronutrients – 500 Nos • Soil samples analyzed for NPK – 11,100 Nos during the year 2006-07 (upto Aug 06) • Fertilizer sale point – 381 Nos • Cooperative Sector – 152 Nos • Private Sector – 229 Nos
State Agriculture Plan • Bio control agents subsidized – 75% • Bio pesticides subsidized – 50% • Agriculture implements like power tiller and weed cutter are subsidized – 70% for Self Help Groups (SHG) & NGOs, 25% for individual farmers
NWDPRA National Watershed Development Programme is implemented as per the WARASA JANASAHBHAGITA are being taken up with an area of 22,757 ha through 7 PIAs i.e. State department and Non Government Organizations (NGOs). There is tremendous scope to take up more watershed project especially in Sahayadri/Western Ghat. Extension will require for 13 micro watershed projects beyond Xth Plan.
THRUST AREAS OF THE STATE • Provide greater emphasis to increase area and rejuvenation of horticultural crops like cashew, mango, coconut, banana, spice /medicinal plants etc. • Develop irrigation infrastructure and distribution network • Integrated and sustainable development of agriculture through watershed management • Increase the level of mechanization to reduce cost of cultivation in horticultural estates. • Soil and water conservation based programme • Focus on high value crops - flowers, spices • Bringing more area under organic farming
