Focus Lesson: Colonial… • Direct Instruction • Women’s rights • Citizenship • Phillis Wheatley • Guided Practice • Class Reading: “Phillis Wheatley: A Revolutionary Woman” (Elements… pp. 60-61) • Take 3 QNTs on excerpts which speak directly to civil rights. • Cooperative Learning • Divide into small gorups (4 people max.). • On your QNT sheets, identify the main idea of the work and some possible reasons why Wheatley wrote it.
