Contracting Strategies • Increase awards to Iraqi firms (Direct) • Utilize factors that positively impact the economy in analyzing the effects of an offerors’ proposal • Iraqi ownership of firm • Iraqi participation in contract performance • Employment of Iraqi citizens • Use of Host Nation Business Advocates HNBAs Providing increased opportunities for economic expansion, entrepreneurship, and skills training

Training • Available training and workshops: • Regional Contracting Centers (RCC) • Local Business Centers • Other secure locations as necessary • Training is focused on how to: • Locate contracting opportunities • Read and understand a Request for Proposal (RFP) • Reasonably price a product or service • Prepare a proposal Win in a competitive environment Place emphasis on mentoring and training Iraqi firms
