  2. Zonta International Goal is to focus on our mission Advancing The Status of Women Worldwide

  3. How do WE advance the status of women? Through our International projects and our Club projects

  4. Footprint Results 2000-2002 International Projects: 2.315.000 USD~ 20.000.000 SEK Club Projects: 14.865.000 USD ~ 125.000.000 SEK Club Projects: App 85% of our money – Important what we do !

  5. What do our clubs do? Everything !!!

  6. Avenue of Service District Conferences Workshops Meetings Reports How do we know?

  7. Christmas baskets for families Housing and outings for the elderly Support of disadvantaged children Support summer and other festivals Flagpole for kindergarten Higway and River clean-up Teaching national dance to foreign students Outdoor playground Support local theater, museum etc. Examples of club projects

  8. Z(onta) projects – what is that? • Focus on Zonta’s Mission • Attractive to members • Clear purpose and plan to keep members interested/involved

  9. B projects May be characterized by: • Any service or charitable organization can provide it • It makes us feel good • May give PR benefits • We have “always”done it

  10. In order to accomplish the Zonta International Mission We want the majority of our projects to be Z(onta) projects

  11. How do we determine if a project is a Z(onta) project?

  12. We do NOT need lots of paper

  13. We just need to answer this simple question: “How does the proposed or current project advance the status of women?”

  14. Career guidance/mentoring young women Teen-age pregnancy prevention program Woman in Business awards and scholarships Justice watch (violence cases) Support for women returning to college Revolving credit fund f. women businesses Advocacy: improved funding/support shelter Self-esteem program/ electronic protection program for VAW survivors Zonta Club projects

  15. A large proportion of our projects are B projects not Z(onta) projects Can we change?

  16. Are B projects forbidden? NO !! But try to let your next project be a Zonta project

  17. Consistent image – the public will learn what Zonta is about We – hopefully - joined Zonta because of our goals/mission. Our members want us to work against our goal and support our mission improved member satisfaction the positive Zonta circle........ Effects: Better results/improved effect for women and the status of women, when we all work towards the same goal

Service & Advocacy ZISVAW Examples: • Fundraising f. shelter awareness of the problem in community advocate for more support to victims • Alarm systems for women organized by clubs awareness of need for police protection and possibly more strict rules for the perpetrator advocacy for training of police officers on how to treat violence victims
