Objectives for 2005-2006 (cont.) Increase diversity of faculty, staff & students and create a welcoming climate for all Faculty & staff participated in diversity workshops, other diversity activities pursued by faculty, however statistics show little change. Created position of Director of Diversity Initiatives in COE Promote international programs Created position of Assistant Dean for International Programs, Signed MOU (Netherlands) & Letter of Intent (China) Complete search for CRESME Co-director Search still underway Develop approved plan for P-12 Engagement Center Nearing completion of planning process
Other Accomplishments for 2005-2006 Successfully completed 8 faculty searches With two other potential hires this year and with split positions COE faculty “turnover” for 06-07 year will be >12% Moved up in U.S. New & World Report rankings of Colleges of Education Now ranked #46 Launched PUPIL Susan Maller & Brian French Awarded the James F. Discovery launched the new Interdisciplinary Journal of Problem-based Learning Engagement impacted dozens of teachers and hundreds of students through programs such as Purdue Literacy Network Project and Ackerman Center Overarching hired new faculty in English Education, Literacy and Language, Mathematics Education, and Social Studies C&I Activities 2005-06
