TRAINING OBJECTIVES TASK: Conduct M16 qualification IAW FM 3-23.35, FB REG. 350-6, AND DIVISION REG. 350-1. CONDITIONS: Given an M16, one 25 meter target and 18/40 rounds of ammunition in a tactical environment. STANDARDS: Without assistance, the firer will zero and qualify, then engage the target in the prone supported, prone unsupported and kneeling position; achieving at least 26 hits IOT qualify.

MISSION 82nd STB WILL CONDUCT AN M16 ZERO/QUALIFICATION RANGE ON 12 NOV O8 IN ORDER TO PREPARE TROOPERS FOR FUTURE OPERATIONS IN OEF/OIF AND TO ENSURE TROOPERS ARE PROFICIENT WITH THEIR ASSIGNED WEAPON.
EXECUTION KEY TASKS: • Ensure PMI is Performed at the Range • Ensure Proper Safety Brief and Range Orientation • Ensure Remedial Training is Available • Ensure sufficient Ammo is available to zero/qualify and re-qualify if necessary • Ensure all Needed Resources are available ENDSTATE: • Quality Training Is Safely Conducted • All Firers Have Qualified With Assigned Weapons

RANGE OPERATIONS CONCEPT OF THE OPERATION (RNG 59/QUAL RANGE) The range will be conducted in five phases: • Range Set-up • Familiarization Fire ( Night Fire/ Limited visibility) • Qualification Fire • Range Clean-up and Closure • Night Fire
Concurrent Training At the Range Task: Test Proficiency Examination Conditions: Given an M16, dummy ammunition and a range Standards: IAW FM 3-22.31, Soldiers must demonstrate proper techniques for the following tasks: Perform general disassembly and assembly, Identify and perform proper sight picture, identify targets, load, unload, and place the weapon on SAFE. Apply immediate action Other training – Remedial PMI as needed on marksmanship fundamentals for those requiring to fire qualification tables again. CTT Tasks- Target engagement Techniques

Safety • Safety is the number one priority during this live fire exercise • Firers MUST ensure they are engaging targets with the appropriate ammo, all ammo is expended prior to moving off the firing line, all firers will clear weapons prior to moving off the firing line, all weapons remain on SAFE when not actively engaging the targets. ABSOLUTELY NO HORSE-PLAY will be tolerated on the range at any time • All personnel will wear eye/hearing protection when utilizing live ammo and will maintain their IBAs with plates and collars while on the range • Two CLS qualified personnel will be on the Range with CLS bags • Designated CASEVAC vehicle will be on-site with a strip map from the range directly to WOMACK AMC • Firers will ensure that they maintain their weapons pointed down range while conducting remedial actions and immediate actions for malfunctions.
