Task AG-06-04 Output and Deliverables • Up to date user needs assessment for forest and land cover observations for forestry at regional and global scales • Launch and progress for GEOSS implementation project on international forest assessments . Availability and adoption of land characterization standards and updated land cover data
Task AG-06-04 Contributory Programs & Projects • FAO FRA, GLCN • GTOS, GOFC-GOLD • Italy, GLCN • Germany • Contributions to GMES ESA FOREST Project • GMES - Fast Track Service Land Monitoring • INSPIRE Implementation Rules Data Specification • Japan • FFPRI: To coordinate a Committee of Forest Monitoring with related institutions • Relevant EC Projects • GEOLAND • CARBOAFRICA • CARBOEUROPE-IP
Task AG-06-04 Team Activities • Established PoC (Mette Loyche-Wilke of FAO-FRA) • Linked to other relevant tasks (AG-06-03 GOFC-GOLD, USGS) • Co-leads have made initial contact and plans initiated; Mailing list created • Complete list of potential contributions from task members (Q3 06) • Organization and coordination of the GEOSS implementation project - Kick-Off Meeting (Q4 06) • Seeking clarification with GEOSEC: • Planned 2007 Forest symposium • WP07/09: Continue; reclassified and expanded as EC-07-P2
Task DI-06-13 Task Definition Initiate a globally coordinated warning system for fire and monitoring for forest conversion, including the development of improved information products and risk assessment models.
