  2. Case Study: • CC/HPI: 73 yo female, chronic ankle, STJ and Midfoot pain >5 years. Pt has failed conservative treatments including ankle bracing and shoegear changes, joint injections etc. • PMH: significant for long hx of RA with steroid, anti-rheumatic therapies. No other major health concerns. • LE Exam: crepitus and pain through ROM of the ankle, STJ and Midfoot joints.

  3. Case Study: • A/P: 73 yo female with severe destruction of the ankle, STJ and midfoot 2/2 RA. • -Pantalar arthrodesis using the Biomet Phoenix Ankle Fusion IM Nail System .

  4. Goals: • 2-4 Degrees of calcaneal valgus. • Foot 90 deg to ankle while loaded. • Foot 10-15 degrees abducted in horizontal plane or matching contralateral side.

  5. Post Op: • 4-6 weeks NWB, 3-4 weeks WB in CAM walker.
