Collective Security and New Governments… • The establishment of the collective security (Leagues of Nations) after World War One as part of Woodrow Wilson's 14 points. • The abolishment of the German Monarchy and Empire and the creation of the new German republic shortly after World War 1 (Weimar Republic).
Germany after WW1 • The treaty of Versailles was signed stating that; • Kaiser Wilhelm 2nd to be tried as a war criminal. • Germany accepts the responsibility for the damages done and the blame for starting the war (Article 231). • Heavy war reparations by Germany and its allies following the defeat of the war. • Limited military forces with no air force allowed. • Alsace and Lorraine were returned back to France and Germany's territories were divided to form new countries such as Poland. • Germany lost 14% of its territories and its territories in East Africa and other colonies were taken by British and Belgium, later controlled by the League of Nations.
