Engineering Design Process Nyla Snowden EF2 2A December 6
Defining a Problem • To design a catapult to launch a objects
Researching and Generating Ideas • I will research how much wood to use to exceed the clay balls along the measurements
Exploring Possibilities • I will explore different possibilities to perfect my catapult.
Selecting an Approach • I will brainstorm ideas to make an effective catapult. • I will sketch it first, then succeed in making the catapult.
Developing a Design Proposal • I will use a specific kind of wood to make the catapult over a weeks time. • Afterwards I will add wheels to make the catapult mobile.
Making a Model or Prototype • My model and prototype was the same thing
Testing and Evaluating the Design using Specifications • I was told to launch clay balls of 3g, 4g, and 5g to see how long they would go and record my results.
Refining the Design • I didn’t have to refine my design because my prototype worked the first time with no problem.
Creating or Making it • I made the catapult with wood, some nails, a spring, and a cup.
