UNV Programme and PNVSCA Background 17 December 1974 • Philippine National Volunteer Service Committee was created through EO No. 134 • addressed the government’s commitment to the International Middle Level Manpower Conference held in Puerto Rico in 1962 • evolved into Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency through EO No. 635 12 December 1980

UNV Programmeand PNVSCA Tasks of PNVSCA • government body mandated to serve as clearing house for foreign agencies • ensures that volunteer programs are aligned with national development objectives and priorities • cooperates with the UNV Programme in project implementation: • recruitment and deployment of UNVs
