Introduction • We use tens of thousands of chemicals every day • chemicals are important to having a good life • Important to national economy • BUT chemicals can be bad for humans and environment
Sources of chemicalpollution • Domestic sewage • Industrial discharges • Seepage from waste sites • Atmospheric fallout • Domestic run-off • Accidents and spills at sea • Operational discharges from oil rigs • Mining discharges • Agricultural run-off
