Building Layout • Grade levels are isolated into pod areas • Pods are identical outside of 7/8 science labs • Students share the middle of the building • Art, Music, Gym, Cafeteria, World Language, Tech Ed, Computer Lab, etc • Security • Secure entrance concept • During the school day, parents and guests buzz the office at the front doors. • New Visitor Management System

Materials needed for 5th Grade Students • Class supply lists will be forth coming… • Online registration • Every 5th Grade student will purchase: • Combination Lock for locker (keep through OHS) • Safety Goggles (keep through OHS) • TI-15 Calculator (Unless you already have one) • Geo-Template for 5/6 Math
Lunch • Student use a 4 digit pin number to order hot lunch • 5 choices to choose from everyday • Includes fruit, salad bar and a milk • 2013-4 Price: $2.40-$3.05, milk is $.35 • Allergy table for students with allergy free lunches • Allergy menu for students with allergies • Money can be deposited in the office or online • Parents can view what your child is eating and manage the amount they spend online • Cold lunch is common for many students • Breakfast is served from 7:15-7:30 am

Transportation/Drop Off/Pick Up • Bus entrance and loading/unloading is on the west side of the building. • Drop off/Pick up is in the front of the school. Please make sure you drop your students curb side. THIS IS DROP AND GO! • Visitor parking is located in the front of school • Event parking happens in both school lots (Multiple doors will be open.) • Walk/Bike Riders use safe school routes. Crossing guards are located near school intersections. • Check our website for more information about transportation!
Nature Hill PTO • Purpose – Support school programming and host events for students at NHI. • PTO meetings are monthly. • Opportunities to volunteer for dances, book fair, teacher appreciation week, etc • A great way to stay informed! Instant feedback and questions answered.

5th Grade Transition to NHI – WEB Program • NHI staff assist 8th grade student leaders in working with our 5th grade students • Designed to assist your child in making the transition into NHI • Activities • Movin’ In Day – Tuesday, August 19, 2014 from 9:00 to 12:00 • Team building events throughout the year • Classroom check-ins by WEB Leaders Not required participation, but highly recommended.
