Mission and Vision Mission:Dorchester School District Two leading the way, every student, every day through relationships, rigor and relevance. Vision:Dorchester School District Two desires to be recognized as a “World Class” school district, expecting each student to achieve at his/her optimum level in all areas, and providing all members of our district family with an environment that permits them to do their personal best.
“You want me to do what?” "You want me to do WHAT?" is a presentation designed to enhance the already immaculate skills of the school/district level administrative assistant. At the end of this session, participants will leave with the tools necessary to take their organizational, communication, as well as their motivational skills to another level of excellence.
OOPs… • What was the most embarrassing blunder you ever made at work? • Was it putting your foot in your mouth in front of higher-ups? Mishandling introductions between two clients? Saying something inappropriate at a meeting?
Learn…then move on… • No matter how many embarrassing social mistakes you’ve made in the past, from now on you can feel completely sure of yourself in any business situation. • Career success depends on growing past the awkwardness into the mature poised person that others can rely on.

3rd Quality of a Great Secretary • Always answers the phone and greets visitors with a smile on his/her face and in his/her voice. • Speak easily and naturally with important business visitors without being the least bit self-conscious. • Handle any challenge with calm poise
4th Quality of a Great Secretary • Has up-to-date skills and the ability to learn new skills and procedures with ease.
5th Quality of a Great Secretary • Knows when to keep his/her mouth shut and when not to. Doesn't quibble over the small stuff. • Learn how to tell the difference between irresponsible rumors and vital “grapevine” information that you or your boss must know. Protect your boss’s vital interests from prying eyes and ears …
6th Quality of a Great Secretary • Listens well and presents solutions rather than dwell on problems. • Listening is one of the most important skills you can have. How well you listen has a major impact on your job effectiveness, and on the quality of your relationships with others. • We listen to obtain information. • We listen to understand. • We listen for enjoyment. • We listen to learn.
7th Quality of a Great Secretary • Presents a professional appearance and attitude at all times. Doesn't bring personal problems to work.
8th Quality of a Great Secretary • Follows through quickly and efficiently with all tasks. • The more poised and confident you are, the more people will like and admire you, which in turn will boost your confidence even more, and so on.The fact is, people are naturally drawn to a self-confident person.
9th Quality of a Great Secretary • Terrific spelling and grammar skills, and knows how to interpret the boss's hieroglyphics! • Here’s a neglected area that can add luster to a professional’s image. Learn the correct way to word social invitations, notes of sympathy, apologies, thank-you notes … and even the most graceful way to decline an invitation.

Session EvaluationParticipants are asked to complete a session evaluation for each session attended. Credit (attendance, renewal, and/or technology) will be added following evaluation completion. For each question, use 1=Strongly Disagree, 2=Disagree, 3=Neither Agree nor Disagree, 4=Agree, 5=Strongly Agree.
