Remedial and Non-Remedial Course Success For these measures, success is determined by the total successful number of student semester hours over the total number attempted during the academic year. All grades of “D” or better are used for non-remedial classes and “C” or better for remedial classes. *The 2013 AY value will be updated when available. **ANC, COTO, MSCC, PCCUA, SAUT, SEAC, UACCH Our Basic Studies Instructors are always looking into new approaches to improve the success of our students. Curriculum changes in our remedial math, reading, and writing classes have had a positive impact in these classes.
Graduation Totals The Arkansas Department of Higher Education counts all of the credentials earned by a graduate within the academic year using the guidelines of multiple credentials at the same level with the same CIP code in the same term will only be counted once. *The 2013 AY value will be updated when available. **ANC, COTO, MSCC, PCCUA, SAUT, SEAC, UACCH SouthArk’s major increases in enrollments between Fall 2007 and Fall 2009 may have resulted in an increase in the number of graduates. Participation in and activities related to the College Completion Initiative may also be a source for the growth. Go, Grow, Graduate!
Total Credentials Rate Full time enrollment (FTE) is the total number of credit hours taken during the academic year divided by 30. The total credentials rate is the percentage equivalent of all credentials earned divided by the annual FTE value/100. SouthArk’s major increases in enrollments between Fall 2007 and Fall 2009 dramatically increased the FTE totals thereby dropping our total credential rates temporarily. As the FTE values have leveled out, South Ark's graduation totals have notably increased over the past year.
Adult Learner and Minority Credentials The Minority Credential total is an overall headcount of students, who self-report as Asian, Black, Hispanic, American Indian/Alaska Native, or Hawaiian/Pacific Islander, and complete a technical certificate or associate degree. The Adult Learner Credential total is an overall headcount of adult students, those who are 25 or older, who complete a certificate of proficiency, technical certificate or associate degree.
