CALS application in the field of education? Known research on CALS-methodology: • High-technology production (aviation, space, etc.) – information systems integration, Common Information Space (CIS) development; • CALS in social systems (government and education): development of the information space between enterprises and universities, training of students and competence model in the field of CALS. It is important to consider the specificity of educational activities: • standardization; • large amounts of unstructured and semi structured data; • active influence of controlled object on the management (social economic relations) • etc. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a concept for use of CALS technologies in order to increase the efficiency of information support of educational process control, and also interaction of its participants in CIS. A fragment of CIS for educational process at the university department level • Nowadays the Data Warehouse contains about 3 million characteristics of information objects; • Web portal has over 1000 users; • The architecture of an information system is constructed with the use of multi-services technology and integrates more than 20 different information systems (so-called services); • The normative and reference part of CIS includes more than 15000 documents; • CIS possesses content properties (portability etc.); • Data warehouse contains 10 OLAP cubes. Conclusions • The proposed concept allows to develop a model of the educational process CIS for data integration and development of Data Warehouse; • The approach provides an opportunity to organize the effective automated interaction of the educational process participants at every level (university – department – student) in the environment of CIS; • Analytical data processing and the use of Data-Mining technologies => improvement of decision-making support; • The use of OLAP-technologies provides traceability of educational process quality indicators in the real-time mode; • This formalization model of CIS can be realized with the use of cloud computing technologies.
