HOPE Scholarship for Home Schooled Students Student is not a High School graduate, student was Home Schooled. Student is considered for HOPE reimbursement after the 30th attempted hour is completed. (semester hours) HOPE scholarship is awarded at tier 2 for the next term of enrollment. (example: std attempted 30th hour in 200308, std is considered for reimbursement 200401, provided std is enrolled)
HOPE Home School Reimbursement Requirements • Must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA @ 30th attempted hour. • Must meet residency and citizenship requirements. If your Home school is one that is an approved, accredited program, contact Georgia Student Finance Commission for processing (770.724.9030).
HOPE Home School Reimbursement Requirements • Home School documentation submitted to OSFA: • Must provide a letter requesting HOPE Home School reimbursement. • Must provide Home school academic transcript • Must provide copy of letter from student’s school district Superintendent for “Intent to Home School” • Must provide Official academic transcript from KSU. • Documents are forwarded to GSFC for review and approval decision on reimbursement.
HOPE Eligibility Requirements • U.S citizen or permanent resident alien • Legal resident of Georgia • Registered, if required, with Selective Service • 1993 high school graduate or beyond with a 3.0 in the college preparatory track or 3.2 in other curriculum tracks • All other HOPE students must have 30 attempted hrs with a 3.0 grade point average
Two Ways to Apply • By completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) OR • By completing the Electronic HOPE Application (EHOPE)
Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) • Family’s personal and financial information required to perform need analysis is collected on FAFSA • FAFSA may be accessed over the internet at www.fafsa.ed.gov
EHOPE Application • This application is online at www.gsfc.org/ehope. It may be used as an alternative to completing the FAFSA for the purpose of applying for the HOPE Scholarship ONLY
