Natural disasters • Tsunamis will drown land animals and destroy habitats.
Complete metamorphosis • Complete metamorphosis is changing form in growth for bugs . • Example: butterflies have complete metamorphosis.
Incomplete metamorphosis • Incomplete metamorphosis is when the insect has only three stages in its life cycle, and barely changes. • Example : crickets have incomplete metamorphosis.
Decomposers • Decomposers are organisms that break down dead plants or animals. • A worm is a decomposer.
Carnivores • A carnivore is an animal that only eats meat.
Herbivores • Herbivores are animals that only eat plants.
Omnivores • Omnivores are animals that eat plants and meat.
Adaptations • Adaptations are behavioral or physical changes that help an organism live in a specific environment. • Example : cactuses have a thick stem to hold water for a long time.
Hibernation • To hibernate is to sleep a long period of time . • In hibernation the heart rate slows down . • Only mammals will hibernate.
Migration • To migrate is for organisms to travel to a different region. • Example : geese fly south for the winter.
Direct Development • Direct development happens when a mammal is born , it is when an animal is born and looks like it always is. • Dogs have direct development.
Man-made disasters • Pollution. To much pollution will cause global warming, and will contaminate water. • Oil spills. Oil spills will contaminate water and will kill sea creatures.
Extinct • For something to be extinct is for its species to have no population.
Predator • A predator is an organism to hunt prey.
Prey • An organism that is being hunted by a predator .
