  2. Cambridge International General Certificate of General Education(Cambridge IGCSE) Cambridge IGCSE is taken in over 100 countries worldwide and are widely recognised by higher education institutions and employers around the world as evidence of academic ability.

  3. Cambridge IGCSE is a two year course. At Z.I.S the course is offered concurrently with MYP in Years 10 and 11.The IGCSE content will be linked to the MYP objectives for the subjects Z.I.S. offers. Length of Course

Why are we offering Cambridge IGCSE? • It gives students a further internationally recognised educational award. • It blends well with the philosophy of MYP and provides a structured specific content based curriculum which will be delivered in an inquiry based manner. • It gives the students an opportunity to experience an external examination which will assist them for the Diploma Program

  5. Links to MYP • Cambridge IGCSE develops learner knowledge, understanding and skills in: • Subject content • Applying knowledge and understanding to familiar and new situations • Intellectual enquiry • Flexibility and responsiveness to change • Working and communicating in English • Influencing outcomes • Cultural awareness • The featured words indicate clear links with MYP pedagogy.

  6. Courses There are more than 70 courses available in Cambridge IGCSE. The courses being offered to Z.I.S. students: English - First Language (0500) International Mathematics (0607) Sciences - Co-ordinated (Double) (0654) Art and Design (0400) And either of Chinese - First Language (0509) Chinese (Mandarin) - Foreign Language (0547) Other course possibilities: Korean - First Language (0521) Other languages

  7. Costs • The costs for each course will be paid for by the student. • Each course costs approximately 600RMB which covers IGCSE fees • and general costs of administering. • * It is not compulsory for students to sit the examinations.
