Biology • the biology discourse community is made up of many different individuals and groups. Therefore, while being in different groups and thinking differently, they all write in the same format, and for just about the same reason: to get published and to be known • When and where a persons research gets published, people within the community, from perspective students to researchers doing ground breaking work, will read the publication. • Even though there are many different parts of the bio community, they share the goal of possibly bettering humanity

The curriculum that is required for the BS is the foundation to taking multiple entrance exams and MCATs(Medical College Admissions Test) required for entrance to a Vet-Med graduate school.
Pediatrician • Those who want to become a pediatrician should enter a biology curriculum heavily focused on the cellular and genetic make up of living organisms. • While there is not a specific degree required to become a pediatrician, it is recommended to obtain a BS in biology, chemistry, or physics • Should focus on a BS of biology due to biology focusing on life sciences and the study of the human body

Uses APA and MLA citation formats. Tumor Necrosis Factor is a cytokine that induces apoptosis (Sarin, 1995). Listing an article from a book Toole, B. P. 1981. Glycosaminoglycan in morphogenesis. In: Cell Biology of Extracellular Matrix (E. D. Hay, editor), Plenum Press, NY, pp. 259-294. These styles are used due to the documentation style most commonly used if these communities. It-text citation also allows for an easy reference point in the document While writing or talking, people in the bio or criminal justice fields, as with any other type of community, use jargon. In bio the use of species names, full name of compounds, and terms for a persons field may be used and understood by another member In the criminal Justice field, the APA style is used due to the method of documentation Common conventions are lab reports, write ups, cause and effect and persuasive essays, scientific publications, etc. Citation styles
