  1. 3rd Grade Weekly Update Ms. Soeder April 29-May 3. 1 DAY till the OAA! Language Arts: -There will be no weekly story this week. Also, please enjoy a break from the weekly reading and spelling homework. There will still be math homework that will be due on Friday. Tuesday: Reading OAA. Please be here promptly at 8:30. Thursday: Math OAA. Again, please be here promptly at 8:30. Students will not be able to enter the classroom after 9:00. Tips: Get at least 8 hours of sleep. Eat a healthy, well balanced breakfast. That does not mean sugary cereals and high sugar orange juice! Take your time. You have 2 ½ hours to take the test. USE IT! Look back in the passage for the answers and underline them! Eliminate answers that don’t apply. Read the questions first to know what you’re looking for. Finally, RELAX! You ARE ready. Social Studies This week we are switching gears and focusing on social studies again. We will be studying local government and law making. The month long unit will start off with some note taking and include several mini projects including making our own set of laws. Important News and Reminders https://orders.scholastic.com/LNG9L. Keep it up. -Reminder: Friday will be a pizza/movie party for awesome behavior and amazing effort. It will not replace lunch and it is MY TREAT!!!! Everyday Math 9.6-9.9 We will be focusing on the following skills: -Multiplication fluency. (please keep working on memorization at home!!) -Strategies for multidigit multiplication. -Lattice Multiplication!!! (My Favorite!) No spelling this week due to OAA!
