Taiji (Taichi) is one part of the traditional Martial Arts (Gung fu or Wushu ).
Tai Ji has been exercised since the 16th century among the Chinese people to keep the body in a good condition and prevent or heal diseases.
It is probably one of the earliest and longest lasting sports which utilizes both brawn and brain.
Taiji is a unique combination of exercise, practical self-defense, self-discipline and art.
Taiji is associated with the Chinese concept of yin-yang, the notion that one can see a dynamic duality (male/female, active/passive, dark/light, forceful/yielding, etc.) in all things. Taiji can help balance the yin-yang inside human body.
