3. Relationship Skills. . .
an effective (teacher and student) relationship may be the keystone that allows the other aspects to work well. Co-Teaching . . .a general education and special education teacher sharing responsibility for teaching all of the students assigned to a classroom. It involves the distribution of responsibility among the teachers for planning, instruction, and evaluation for a classroom of students.
4. Co-Teaching Intervention Pilot Students in need of acceleration in English 9 will be enrolled in co-taught English 9 and English 9 Seminar
Students in need of acceleration in Algebra I will be enrolled in co-taught Algebra I and Algebra I Seminar
6. The Co-Teaching Intervention PilotHow will we measure the success of the Intervention Pilot? Students will pass each core course and support course with the grade of a “C or better.
Students will earn a passing score (60% or above) on local quarterly assessments.
Performance on H.S.A. end of course assessments will yield a 100% pass rate.
Portfolio assessment will show ongoing evidence of individual student improvement and growth in reading, written language and/or, mathematics.
Students enrolled in the pilot will yield increased enrollment in upper level English and Mathematics courses in their 10th grade year and beyond.
