  2. Chapter 1 Introduction • Josh, Dink, and Ruth Rose were all friends about 10. • They all lived in the same neighborhood • Wallis Wallace was a famous writer • Josh, Dink, and Ruth Rose were going to see the famous writer at the Book Nook.

  3. Chapter 2 the missing Author • The kids go to the Book Nook for autographs. • The author Wallis Wallace is not at the Book Nook. • Josh, Dink and Ruth Rose thought that the author was kidnapped.

  4. Chapter 3 Kidnapped • The kids met a new lady named Mavis Green. • They went back into the book Nook and got Wallis Wallace’s itinerary.

  5. Chapter 4At the Airport • They went to the ice cream shop. Dink called the airport. • A person at the airport said the author got on and off the plane. • The taxi driver said she picked him up and let him off at the Shangri-la.

  6. Chapter 5The Shangri-la Hotel • All together they went to the Shangri-la Hotel. • There was Mr. Linkletter the owner of the hotel about Wallis Wallace. • He said that he was in the hotel but he never came out of his room.

  7. Chapter 6 The Secret Room • Wallis Wallace was in room 303. • Someone else was in room 302. • Dink, Josh and Ruth Rose wanted to get into both rooms.

  8. Chapter 7Planing Out • They needed a plan. • They went to Dink’s house to eat lunch and plan. • Something weird was happening on the third floor in the hotel.

  9. Chapter 8Mavis • Dink, Josh, Roth Rose meet Mavis at the hotel called Shangrila. • They looked on Mavis’s scarf and it had two MM’s on it. • There is something strange with Mavis.

  10. Chapter 9Wallis Wallace • Dink, Josh, Ruth Rose and Mr. Linkletter unlocked room 302. • They found Wallis Wallace.

  11. Chapter 10Who is Who • Ruth Rose is thinking maybe Mavis is Wallis Wallace. • Ruth Rose saw the scarf upside down. • The two MMs on her scarf looked like WW.

  12. The Mystery • Wallis Wallace and Mavis were the same person. • She was writing a new book and wanted to see how kids would solve the mystery.
