Tocar and parecer. To be someone’s turn to do something and to seem to be something. Tocar. To say what you have to do, or whose turn it is to do something, use the verb TOCAR followed by an infinitive Example: Me toca leer (its my turn to read)

Tocar • To say what you have to do, or whose turn it is to do something, use the verb TOCAR followed by an infinitive • Example: Me tocaleer (its my turn to read) • Tocar is used like GUSTARThe verb does not change very much. You change the pronoun in front of the verb to indicate who is doing the action of the verb Remember ME gusta, but TE gusta?

PRACTICAMOS! • Tell your sister that its her turn to do the chores, and then tell her that its your turn to do the second (fun) thing in the sentence. • Example: • Limpiar el bano, escucharmusicaTe tocalimpiar el bano.   7. Parecer • The verb PARECER means to seem and it conjugates like GUSTAR and TOCAR. • Use this verb to express opinions

  9. For example: • Siempre me tocalavar los platos. Me pareceinjustoI always have to wash the dishes. It seems unfair to me  • Siempre le tocacocinar. Le pareceunalata!Its always her turn to cook. She thinks it’s a pain… 

  10. Como teparece? • Parecer is usually followed by an adjective. (1 point for every sentence you translate correctly – remember, keep it simple!) Mom: Pepe, its your turn to cut the grass. Pepe: Its always my turn to cut the grass. I don’t like to cut the grass. Its not fair! Julia: I like to cut the grass. I think its awesome! I always have to cook and I don’t like to cook. Pepe: I love to cook! Mom, can I cook, please? Mom: Aaah! I need to rest.
