PERSONALITY TYPES. • Human beings regardless of culture, age, background, etc. seem to have four basic personality types or temperaments. • As far back as 400 BC Hippocrates observed and tries to classify these four personality types. • He used body fluids to describe four personality types.   8. PERSONALITY TYPES. Choleric – the active type (D) Sanguine – the lively type (I) Phlegmatic – the slow type (S) Melancholy – the dark type (C) Sages & Scribes Consultants.

Researches indicate that: • No one person is only one of these types; • Each person is a combination of these four basic temperaments; • Majority of people have two personality temperaments that are predominant while the two others are less predominant.   12. PERSONALITY CHARACTERISTICSTHE ‘D’ TYPE. • The ‘D’ type personality is motivated by challenges. • They have a strong need to be in charge. • They also have a high need to be in control of the situation wherever they find themselves. Sages & Scribes Consultants.

POSITIVE CHARACTER TENDENCIES.THE ‘D’ TYPE. • They are usually dominant and have a strong personality. • Their focus is often to get things done hence, they are often practical. • They are problem solvers and decision makers. • They love challenges and are pragmatic and persistent to see a task completed. PRACTICAL STEPS IN UNDERSTANDING OTHERS – THE ‘D’ TYPE: • Would benefit from slowing down and listening more • Should focus more on the people component of any endeavour. • Should be more open, warm and more willing to submit to the leadership of others • Should learn to be supportive of others. PRACTICAL STEPS IN UNDERSTANDING OTHERS – THE ‘I’ TYPE: • Would benefit from pausing and focusing on results. • Should cultivate self-discipline, focus more on details, facts and be more realistic. • Learn to control their emotions and rely less on their charisma to influence others. • Be careful not to manipulative others with their superior verbal and persuasive skills. • Learn to talk less and listen more.
