Life Cycle • 2 -6 babies 15-20 ounces • 12 years in wild / 20 in captivity • Fur grays when older • Preys on other animals
Adaptations • Camouflage skin • Sharp hearing and eye site • Hunts on land and in trees • Very muscular
Reasons for Endangered Status • Deforestation • Poachers • Farmers poison them • Killed for skin
Conservation • Educate people • Malay peninsula enforced poaching laws • Donate money to Malay • Recycle so they do not cut down more trees
Fun Facts • Can carry 200 pound carcass into tree • Vultures stay away from meat in trees • Dives to cool itself off • Not always black, sometimes brown
