Key revelations • “Forget about OpenMPI running across machines. Use OpenMP. Interpreters now have desktop machines with 8-64 cores” (ExxonMobil IT folks, Aug. 2013) • “C++ and python will be able to handle the “\” vs. “/” . Next steps Rewrite remaining GUIs, python scripts, and Fortran i/o interfaces. Test. Release last Linux only “Bourne Shell script version”, November 25, 2013. Replace all Bourne Shell scripts with equivalent python scripts inside GUIs (2 letters per application “sh” to “py” Test…test…test… on both Linux and Windows Release post-stack attribute code December 2013 Release all other applications January 2013.
