  15. Upgrade Process – Applications • Using the Enterprise Applications Install Guide, install 9.0.1 applications on top of existing 9.0.0 applications. • The install guide provides instructions if upgrading from 9.0.0 applications. • The Data Promotion Programs require you to be at a minimum release level of 9.0.0 MSP4 prior to installing the 9.0.1 applications.

  16. Considerations • Moving from LSF 9.0.0 is not like applying an ESP • Hardware and OS considerations need to be addressed • Determine fall back plan, recovery points • “Cyclical” happens over existing environment like past upgrades • No LSF9 environment copy steps available • Dependent products • Version of Lawson LDAP Provider • Version of Lawson WebSphere • Version of Relational Database • LID 9.0.1.4 (32 bit vs 16 bit) will not work with 8.0.3 technology • Are you on at least 9.0.0.x Apps? • Are you on the supported version of MSCM and LBI? • WebSphere releases similar for MSCM, LBI, LBP • Lawson Metadata • Does your organization bring forward Jobs Definitions, Print Files, Security, etc during upgrades? • Weighing resetup vs upgrading of information

  17. Considerations • The Data Promotion Programs (DPP) are a “cyclical” • It is an in-place process • EDI moves from LOGAN to Application Product Line • Multiple testing configurations available • Time Accrual is supported in 9.0.1 applications • Review Application Release Notes for specific functional area changes
