Good News • - Not every bad result automatically means that • there was negligence. • - A healthcare provider may take all the right steps, • and still makes a human mistake or get a bad result. • Medical malpractice insurance covers healthcare • providers for liability claims arising from treatment • of their patients.

  3. Future Goals (1) Establishing a special committee in each hospital for monitoring medical practice. (2) Establishing a scientific committee in each hospital for CME. (3) Encouraging Ethics and Communication skills in each hospital.

Future Goals (cont'd ) • (4) Giving concern to timely departmental and inter- • departmental M/M meetings, clinico-pathological • meetings, and case-presentations. • (5) Giving special concern to the culture of EBM. • (6 ) Formulating programs for training, workshops, and • building-up psychomotor skills in different specialties. • A policy to cover healthcare providers by medical • insurance against malpractice on a mass-scale
