  4. Objective Scoring… • Is measured by a definite score • It is a score that is fact Examples can include.. Goals, points, runs scored, time on stopwatch, length of throw, height of jump.

  5. Objective Scoring • Think of two activities that are decided on who has the most goals or points at the end of time. Football Hockey Netball Basketball Handball

  6. Objective Scoring • Think of two activities where the result depends on who is first to reach a set score. Badminton Volleyball Tennis Squash

  7. Objective Scoring • Now think of two activities where the person who crosses the line first wins… 100m 200m 400m 800m etc.. Hurdles Cycling Rowing

  8. Objective Scoring • Now think of three activities where the scoring system is different from any of those previously mentioned. • Swimming – Whoever touches wall first • Throwing – Whoever throws furthest • Jumping - Whoever jumps highest or longest

  9. Subjective Scoring … • Is measured by an observer’s evaluation of performance. • The performer’s score will depend upon the opinion of a judge

  10. Subjective Scoring • Points are usually awarded for how good the performance looks. • Points are usually awarded for how complex the performance is. • Points are usually deducted from a maximum score for errors.
