  2. A region in South America Consists of the mighty Amazon river And, a jungle forest Stretches over 7 million sq. kilometers What is the Amazon?

  3. Most of the Amazon Forest is in Brazil. It also covers parts of Peru, Columbia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Bolivia, Guyana, Suriname and French Guiana. WHERE IS IT?

  4. It has existed for more than 55 million years It has survived many climate changes (e.g. ice ages) A huge variety of plants and animals live there

  5. One in ten known species in the world lives in the Amazon Rainforest. 2.5 million insect species Tens of thousands of plants 2000 birds and mammals To date, at least 40,000 plant species, 2,200 fishes 1,294 birds, 427 mammals, 428 amphibians, and 378 reptiles have been scientifically classified in the Amazon Animals and plants

  8. Some of the tribes still survive on fishing and hunting. Others survive on rubber trade. Thousands of trees and shrubs produce latex/rubber. The people who live in the amazon bleed the trees. Then they sell the rubber Tribes in the amazon
