Direct Claim The assignment for chapter 6 was about how to write a letter to Patrick Dwiggens of Premier Wood Products wanting the money back for my desk that was dis colored and a money back guarantee was offered.
Direct Letters 1552 Woodbridge St. Apt # 308 St. Paul, MN 55117 October 6, 2008 Patrick Dwiggens Operations Manager Premier Wood Products P.O. Box 528 High Point, NC 27261 Dear Mr. Dwiggens, Please send me my money back. Just recently I ordered one of your expensive North American White Oak desks. Rarely do I order large expensive items by mail but I was impressed by the description of this desk and by the money-back guarantee promised in the catalog. When the desk arrived the wood finish was rough, the grain looked splotchy, and many of the drawers would not pull out easily. The advertisement had promised “full suspension, silent ball- bearing drawer slides.” I am disappointed with the desk, the description of the desk didn’t turn out what I thought it would be. I understand that there is a money-back guarantee promised in the catalog. So will I be able to get my money-back since I am not satisfied with desk? It would be highly appreciated. Sincerely, Amberly Young

Our audience doesn’t expect a formal address; they are more interested in hearing about your famous book you are known for promoting around the country. Can we count on you to join us for a special graduation on April 26th at The Arizona International University Tempe. Informal Reports The assignment for chapter 9 was to make an informal report to keep my supervisor updated if the project was on schedule, activities that have been completed this far, the current work that has progressed, and future activities.
InFormal Reports AmberlyYoung Business Communications 11/3/08 Date: November 3, 2008 To: John Doe, Executive Supervisor From: Amberly Young, Office Manager Subject: Progress Report This memo is for ways to come up with ways to increase community awareness of our organization. This project is so far on schedule, for the past month I have been meeting with business and community leaders, conducting Web research, and visiting with representatives from nonprofit organizations. In this next week I will be meeting with more nonprofit organizations and businesses because there is a high demand for homes for abused animals and there need to be more homes. At this point there are no obstacles that I have encountered and the project is right on schedule as we planned. Let me know if there is any further research that needs to be done. Sincerely, AmberlyYoung
