1st – Group Activity • Separate Into Two Groups • Need Volunteers (2) • One From Each Group • “Teachers” Leave The Room • If You Didn’t Volunteer, You Are A Student • Group 1 • Group 2 Group 1 Group 2
Group Instructions Group 1 Group 2 • You are extremely motivated to do well. You always have encouragement at home and your teacher tries her hardest to help you succeed. Because of this, you want to do your best for yourself, your parents, and your teacher. • Pay close attention to your “teacher,” take notes, and do well on the quiz like any student with this background would. • You have no desire to go to college. Therefore, there is no reason for you to try to succeed in school. Your parents don’t support you even though your teacher does, so your motivation level is low. • While your “teacher” is teaching, doodle on your paper instead of taking notes, and be uninterested in the material.
“Teacher Instructions” • Teach your group of students that material given to you. Do your best, and remember… • Your student achievement will be monitored. • Your students will be given a quiz after the material is taught.

Where Is RISE Used? RISE was used in three Indiana School Corporations in the 2011-2012 School Year. The results of RISE from these schools will be closely studied so that other schools can get a better understanding of the work and effort that RISE requires.
How To Prepare For RISE. Summer Reporting Involves seeing what needs to be done before the school year begins and taking actions to address those needs. Supplement Training Involves using the internet and videos to evaluate what specific teachers need to work on Teacher Modules Used to give teachers information on various RISE topics Research, Research, Research
