Fractions Unit Portfolio Presentation
Unit Summary • Students will be able to interpret a chart or graph using Microsoft excel or Power point presentations, and to manipulate fraction bars to add and subtract fractions with common and unlike denominators, find their Least common denominator, to add and subtract mixed numbers, solving real-world problems and converting fractions to mixed numbers and mixed numbers to fractions.
CFQs Essential Question : How do fractions recognize in everyday life? Unit Question : How to add mixed numbers and dissimilar fractions? Content Question : How to change the mixed number to an improper fraction? What pattern do you find in adding similar fractions?
Vision for Unit • By creating this unit, I want to Determine my students the common factors of the numerator and denominator of a given fraction. Recognize that a fraction is in lowest terms when the greatest common factor of its numerator and denominator is one.
During this unit, I want my students to Compute answers and solve problems by applying appropriate procedures. Identify the procedures needed to complete each practice exercise.
Project Approaches • As my students work on this project, they Share their learning out from the given Topic. Introduced to fractions as they are used in everyday life Find out the two or more equivalent fractions.
21st Century Learning • Demonstrating initiative to advance skill levels towards a professional level • Acting responsibly with the interests of the larger community in mind • Adapting to varied roles and responsibilities • Understanding how media messages are constructed, for what purposes and using which tools, characteristics and conventions.
Gauging Students Needs Assessment • Use CFQs to learn On how to solve problems base from the topic The techniques on how to solve fractions • Assess 21st Century skills Knowledge on how to add similar fractions
I can use the information from these assessments to: Assess the work of my students. Give some clarification base from the topic if he/she have difficulty in solving problem. • Students can use the information from these assessments to: Share their ability multiplying the denominator by the whole-number part, then adding the numerator.
Request for Feedback • Need the students who are slow learners • Need the students to assess thier difficulties on how to solve any problems.
