Paediatric Assessment Unit Re-Audit May 2006 Re-Audit Objective • To ensure patients are seen within 1 hour of admission by a Middle Grade Doctor and SHO/Nurse Practitioner • To ensure patients are nursed by 1 nurse • To ensure patients are nursed in a designated area Rationale • To ensure that patients are given optimal assessment and treatment within ward 10

  3. Paediatric Assessment Unit Re-Audit May 2006n=23 Criteria Number 1: Patient will be seen within 1 hour of admission to the paediatric Assessment Unit by • A Registrar • An SHO/Nurse Practitioner Standard: 100% Exception: (SHO/Nurse Practitioner) Pt already seen by Registrar

  5. Paediatric Assessment Unit Re-Audit May 2006 n=23 Criteria No 2 There will be one designated nurse per shift Standard: 100% Exception: None This criteria failed the standard 23/23 (100%)
