  2. Unitown, Unitown! Anyone who has attended Unitown in the past, please attend a mtg. after school today,Wed., Mar. 5 after school in rm C 211. Important things to discuss so please be there. See you then.

  3. BBQ Lunch…tomorrow, Thur., Mar. 6. May be purchased as combo meal: $2.75 for students & $3.50 for adults. Or hamburger can be purchased alone for $2.25 for students & adults.

  4. Congrat'sto Jr., Olive Mier Holland for being selected as a youth ambassador in the Sister Cities Program. She will be spending three weeks this summer in Taipei, Taiwan, Republic of China, as a Citizen Diplomat, representing Phoenix, AZ & the US. Do us Proud Olive.

  5. Juniors & Seniors!  Have the Winter Olympics inspired you to live in the alpines?  If so, Northern Arizona University might be a good fit.  Sign up on Naviance to attend the NAU college visit on Fri., Mar. 7 @ 10 a.m. in the College & Career Center.

  11. Seniors! If you are a first generation student who plans to attend a 4-year university, you may be eligible for the Dorrance Scholarship! The online application is due February 21st. Please go to Naviance for more information or stop by the College & Career Center.

  13. Life Skills is recycling empty chip bags all year.  The bin is emptied weekly in the café & library. For chip bags… see the trash can, just walk past. Find the bin & put it in.

  14. CHAPTS is awarding a $1,000 Safe Driving Scholarship to a Chap senior who creates a project that urges teens to drive safely.  The project can be a song, a poster, a public service announcement, a video... 

  15. …anything that will encourage students to improve their driving habits.  Application due date:  Fri., Mar. 21.  Please use Naviance to download the application or stop by the College & Career Center for hard copy.

  16. Co-ed volleyball will beWed., Mar. 5 in the big gym.Cost is $10 per player & there's no limit to the number of players. Official rules & sign ups outside room D212 Sign ups due Fri., Feb. 28.

  17. And finally…Students please remember you MUST to have a signed pass to come to the library during class time. Get one signed from your teacher BEFORE you leave or go back for it. Thank you.

  18. Congratulations to Chaparral DECA for bringing home several honors at the State Career Development Conference. A test medal was won by Emily Belt, Grant Holzworth and Jake Tomlinson both were finalists in their divisions (sports marketing and retail marketing). Jake Tomlinson will represent AZ at the upcoming DECA International for more information.

  19. Career Development Conference in Atlanta, Georgia. All of the delegates from Chaparral performed well and enjoyed the 3-day conference, which included a Phoenix Suns Game, workshops, entertainment, & competition. Students interested in business and marketing are encouraged to join DECA. See Ms. Thornburgh or any DECA member for more information.
