In-Text Citations… Direct Quotes • APA: • “Perception is the process by which we notice and make sense of experience and stimuli around us” (Wood, 2001, p.39). • MLA: • “Perception is the process by which we notice and make sense of experience and stimuli around us” (Wood 39).

Things to avoid… • “So in conclusion…” • Talk writing (like, so, then, and) • Generalities (You, we, etc…) • Sweeping statements • Racial/ethnic group slurs • Slang use • Illegal activity
