State Legislative Update • Legislature reconvened January 6th – currently in 2nd year of 2-year session • Bill introduction deadline was February 21st • Hundreds of new bills introduced in January & February • Senate & Assembly policy committees meeting now • Bills reported to fiscal committee or Floor in house of origin May 2nd and May 9th, respectively
State Legislative Update • Budget process running simultaneous to policy work • Governor’s May Revise • Budget deadline - midnight June 15th • New fiscal year begins July 1st • Summer recess - July 3rd to August 4th • Legislature’s final recess - August 31st • Last day for Governor to sign or veto bills - September 30th
