La Asociación de Municipalidades del Valle Central (AMVACEN) constituida el año 2002 con el propósito de promover el desarrollo territorial, en los sectores mas deprimidos de los espacios territoriales de las comunas de la AMVACEN. La línea del desarrollo territorial busca el fortalecimiento institucional, infraestructura, medio ambiente, sociocultural y económico productivo, tendiendo a crear condiciones favorables de desarrollo con criterios de "producción limpia".
