FIRST CRITERIA Earn the Lucas! Earning the Outstanding award is the first criteria for determining eligibility for the Distinguished award, so it will important that you pay attention to the Lucas criteria and follow instructions.
Division Council Meetings • content & training • effectiveness of agendas • topics discussed & timeliness • leadership workshops • inclusiveness (officers vs. members) • delegation of tasks • attendance (overall by club) • growth (change in format/content, etc.)
Training & Education • year in review • workshops/special presentations held at DCMs • planning of training • inventory of topics shared with membership • relaying messages from executives, administration, and committee chairs • include a PDF of the last 5 tabs of the MRF
Leadership Development • utilizing the Leadership Team • assistants • news editor • task coordinators • training the leadership team • encouraging division involvement
Submissions • MRF/Division Updates and their growth/development throughout the year • club visitations • timeliness • do not include these files in your binder; however, you may choose to include reflections regarding submissions
Division Events • fundraisers, service projects, socials • provide documentation (planning details, ERF, other paperwork, etc.) • attendance (overall by club) • showcase a maximum of one event per quarter (4 total) • include snapshots and reflections of each event
Committee Work • PowerPoints, flyers, tasks • teleconference attendance • overall involvement • Also offer reflections of your experience within the committee
Testimonials • one from a member not from your home club • one from a club officer not from your home club • one from an assistant • one from a faculty or Kiwanis advisor • include contact information for each (phone number, email)
Communication • documentation sampling of work, emails, and comments • committee • division • district reflectors • region • admin & executives & trustee • challenge of the month • focus on proactive and timely communication
Membership • resources given to clubs to promote membership and club growth • encouragement and assistance to clubs with the MUC transition • suspensions (acts you did to try to save them) • reactivations plans
Outreach to the Kiwanis Family • shared materials with Kiwanis Lieutenant Governor • attendance at meetings • reflections of trying to reach out to the different levels of Kiwanis Family • region communications and team building
Serving the District • 100+ hours of community service • non-required tasks & work • required attendance • learning moments & reflections • representing CNH at various events • moving the district forward/your legacy
Goals & Miscellaneous • what were your goals when you started, how did they progress, what did you do to achieve them, etc. • show your proudest achievements • anything you didn’t include in your binder, but are proud of that show you went above and BEEyond
Closure Activity • Reflection is important • Closure is important • Complete the closure activity with honest reflection, pdf the document, and submit.
